Our story
Halbro was born from a conversation between two friends — Hallet, a coal merchant, and Broughton, a sports retailer — who shared a vision of creating better rugby clothing when quality options were hard to find.
From this simple but powerful idea, Halbro Textile Co Ltd was formed in Wigan — a town steeped in coal mining, textile manufacturing and rugby heritage. Tough, hardworking individuals shaped a community that would go on to produce some of the best players and teams in the country.
Heritage
Hallet and Broughton understood early on that customer trust was the cornerstone of success. Their commitment to high-quality products quickly earned Halbro a reputation for reliability and excellence.
In 1924, Broughton left the company and Hallet took the reins until his passing in the 1950s. In 1961, the Moores family purchased Halbro, bringing a forward-thinking approach to production that keeps us at the forefront of performance sportswear to this day.
While Halbro is best known for rugby jerseys and shorts, we offer a complete range of high-performance sportswear for clubs, schools, colleges and businesses.
High-performance training wear designed for clubs, schools and athletes who demand durability and comfort.
